Differences in Ferritin and Hemoglobin Levels Before and After Administration of Iron Sucrose Injection to Second or Third Trimester Pregnant Women at Araskabu Public Health Center, Deli Serdang

BACKGROUND: Anemia cases in pregnant women Indonesia are still high because do not routinely take iron supplements or often referred as Tablet Tambah Darah of the side effects it causes. An alternative to this problem is intravenous administration sucrose. AIM: The purpose study was determine differences ferritin and hemoglobin (Hb) levels before after sucrose injection second third trimester at Araskabu Public Health Center, Deli Serdang. METHODS: This an analytical with a Quasi-Experimental Pre-Post Design for Second Third Trimester Pregnant Women Serdang which carried out April 2022 by blood sampling intravenously, then repeated 14 days May 2022. subjects were 25 aged 20–40 years who had antenatal care selected using Consecutive Sampling technique. difference mean Hb analyzed paired t-test if data normally distributed Wilcoxon test distributed. results significant p < 0.001. Mann–Whitney Kruskal–Wallis tests used examine between two more sample groups. analysis 0.050.
